VCD Publication

This publication is intended to be a keepsake for students graduating from the Visual Communication Design BFA program, as well as a showcase of work to present to prospective students and clients. The publication features several pieces of work from each student, a list of courses currently offered in the Visual Communication Design program at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, as well as a list of the full-time and part-time department faculty.  This design was selected as a finalist by the client.

The concept of this design was based on revolution. Revolution aims to create a disruption of the everyday standards, to transform the existing order to build something greater. Graphic design has always played an important role in all of these revolutions, creating an additional language that extends the movement by making visual work that confronts ideas, conceptions and societal norms. Students in the Visual Communication Design program learn how to use the combination of objects, concepts, visuals and design principles to take a part in the responsibility of questioning the world around us and how it can change for the better
